The Evangelical Organization Organizes “Oyounak Tehmna” Convoy under the National Alliance in the Presence of the Governor of Beni Suef
Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki:
We believe that healthcare is a fundamental right, and that community partnership contributes to building people and improving quality of life.
The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, a member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, organized an eye care convoy in Beni Suef under the slogan “Oyounak Tehmna,” in the presence of Major General Abdullah Abdel Aziz, Governor of Beni Suef, and in cooperation with the Beni Suef Governorate and the Directorate of Health, as part of the celebrations marking Labor Day.
The convoy targeted drivers and support service workers at the governorate headquarters, benefiting more than 200 individuals. This came as part of efforts to promote workers’ health and provide them with free medical services.
The Governor of Beni Suef inspected the convoy’s activities, which included eye examinations, dispensing medication, and providing free eyeglasses to eligible cases. Additional medical services were also offered, including blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, HbA1c testing, and kidney disease screening, provided through the Beni Suef Directorate of Health.
The governor emphasized the importance of health initiatives targeting the most vulnerable groups, praising the fruitful cooperation between civil society institutions and executive bodies in providing integrated healthcare services to citizens and workers.
For his part, Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, commended the efforts of all partners in organizing the convoy. He affirmed that the organization continues its developmental and humanitarian role through initiatives aimed at supporting the most vulnerable groups and enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.
Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki added: “We believe that healthcare is a fundamental right for every human being, and that cooperation between state institutions and civil society represents an important model for joint action in serving the community and supporting the most vulnerable groups.”
The convoy was attended by Dr. Hani Gomaa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Beni Suef, along with a number of executive leaders and representatives of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services.
Several beneficiaries expressed their happiness with the services provided, stressing that the convoy helped provide free medical care, examinations, and treatment. They also expressed their appreciation for the attention given to workers and the healthcare support offered to them.
