The National Development Initiatives and Volunteering Unit at the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services implemented an immersive training program in coordination between the organization’s “Etsa Wood” furniture factory and the Décor Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nahda University in Beni Suef.
Six male and female students participated in the training, completing an average of 37 training hours. The program aimed to provide them with practical exposure to the various stages of furniture production, beginning with technical drawing and professional measurement techniques, followed by an introduction to the tools used throughout the different production stages, the various types of paints and their applications, and finally the preparation of the finished product.
The students’ commitment and regular attendance throughout the training period enabled them to gain the maximum possible benefit from the experience within the designated timeframe. The cooperation and coordination with the administration of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Décor Department, also played an important role in the success of the training and the achievement of its objectives.
The training was implemented as part of the Coptic Evangelical Organization’s belief in the importance of engaging young people in volunteer programs and providing immersive learning opportunities. Such opportunities offer them practical experience in an environment that simulates real workplace conditions, helping them discover their skills and capabilities and work toward developing them.
Through these training programs, the organization also seeks to strengthen young people’s practical experience and connect academic learning with hands-on application, contributing to their qualification and better preparing them to enter the labor market.
