President of the Evangelical Community Attends “Building People and Promoting the Culture and Values of Citizenship” Meeting in the Presence of the Ministers of Social Solidarity and Awqaf and the Governor of Minya

Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, attended the intellectual meeting titled “Building People and Promoting the Culture and Values of Citizenship,” organized by the Coptic Evangelical Organization at its headquarters in Atsa Center, Minya Governorate.
The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf; Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity; Major General Emad Kedwany, Governor of Minya; Eng. Margret Sarofim, Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ali Gabr, Deputy Governor of Minya; along with a number of executive and religious leaders and representatives of state institutions and civil society.
In his speech, Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki expressed his happiness with the meeting, affirming that the topic “Building People and Promoting the Culture and Values of Citizenship” reflects a deep belief that building nations begins with building people, and that consolidating the values of citizenship is the cornerstone of any society seeking stability and progress.
The President of the Evangelical Community expressed his appreciation for Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, praising her role in supporting community work, strengthening paths of social development, caring for the most vulnerable groups, empowering women, and consolidating the values of social justice.
He also valued the role of Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, affirming that he presents a model of religious leadership that combines deep knowledge with national belonging and contributes to strengthening the values of citizenship and promoting a culture of coexistence.
Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki also praised the efforts of Major General Emad Kedwany, Governor of Minya, in supporting the development process within the governorate, affirming the Coptic Evangelical Organization’s pride in its beginnings in Minya Governorate and its long history of civil work there.
He pointed out that citizenship represents the true safety valve in facing challenges, affirming that Egypt is a model of a cohesive state through the awareness of its people and the consolidation of the concept of citizenship in daily life.
He explained that the Coptic Evangelical Organization gives great attention to the issue of citizenship by linking the developmental and cultural dimensions in building people, through programs aimed at raising awareness, consolidating values, and empowering citizens to participate effectively.
He affirmed that Egypt’s cultural diversity is a source of strength, and that citizenship is the framework that organizes this diversity and guarantees equality in rights and duties, pointing to the importance of turning citizenship into a daily practice.
In this context, he reviewed the project “Promoting the Values and Practices of Citizenship in Minya Governorate,” in partnership with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which aims to consolidate citizenship values in a number of villages through awareness and development programs.
He concluded by affirming that building people and promoting the values of citizenship is a shared responsibility that requires continuous work and a clear vision to build a more cohesive and just society.
For his part, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, extended a warm greeting to Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, praising the depth of their longstanding relationship and commending the national role of the President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt.
He affirmed his pride in the joint work between nuns, consecrated women, female preachers, and women community leaders with the Coptic Evangelical Organization, which reflects the authentic role of women across Egypt’s governorates, through sincere love and real influence on Egyptian families in promoting faithful citizenship.
He noted that today’s meeting represents a step on a shared path, where we live together as Egyptians from all backgrounds, affirming: “We are all honored to serve Egyptians and wish happiness for Egyptians.”
He added that promoting the culture of citizenship among Egyptians is an instinctive matter, similar to the role of a family guardian with his children.
For her part, Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, expressed her happiness at participating in the meeting, extending her thanks to Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, for hosting the event, in the presence of distinguished guests and the authentic Egyptian audience.
She also praised the role of consecrated women, nuns, female preachers, and Ambassadors of Love, and their pivotal influence.
She affirmed that the issue of building people represents a key pillar in the policies of the Egyptian state, as it is the foundation for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development, adding: “This is Egypt, one home at all times.”
She pointed to the need to expand the experience of nuns and female preachers, affirming: “You are providing a great service to Egypt.”
The Minister explained that promoting the culture and values of citizenship contributes to consolidating the principles of society.
She praised the role of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services in implementing quality programs aimed at building awareness and promoting positive values, affirming that partnership with the organization represents a successful model of development work based on sustainability and community impact.
Major General Emad Kedwany, Governor of Minya, also affirmed that the governorate gives great attention to supporting initiatives aimed at building people and promoting community awareness, noting that achieving sustainable development begins with investing in people and strengthening the values of belonging and citizenship among citizens.
