“Together We Can”
is an initiative implemented by the Volunteering and Training Unit of the Coexistence Program at the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS). It aims to:
Attract new youth volunteers to play an active and impactful role in their communities by raising awareness about the importance of volunteering.
Enhance communication and raise awareness among families and their children regarding digital safety, the dangers of online blackmail, and methods of prevention.
A total of 11 awareness sessions were held with the participation of 324 individuals, addressing the topic of digital safety (online blackmail). These sessions aimed to educate the community about the official entities responsible for protection against online blackmail and how to access them. As a result, 308 new volunteers (33 young men and 275 young women) joined the initiative to help spread awareness among youth and families on these issues.
Key achievements of the initiative include:
Involving youth aged 18 years and above.
Diversifying partnerships with multiple stakeholders.
Establishing communication channels between youth and relevant institutions to address online blackmail issues.
Organizing a significant meeting with the Deputy Director of the Cairo Directorate of Education, during which an agreement was reached to launch awareness sessions for students across all educational districts in the governorate.
The initiative was carried out in partnership with a community committee, the Basmet Ebda’a Association, the Equal Opportunities and Human Rights Department at the Cairo Directorate of Education, and the initiatives “Feminine Plural” and “Speak Up”, in addition to youth centers in Imamain, Al-Tunsi, and Abdeen.
