The Coptic Evangelical Organization Forms Its First Volunteer Team in Minya Governorate

The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services announced the formation of its first volunteer team in Minya Governorate, as part of the volunteering initiative launched by the organization in a number of governorates, including Minya, Beni Suef, Sohag, Cairo, Qalyubia, and Beheira.

The team was formed with the participation of 43 male and female volunteers, who took part in an introductory meeting that addressed the concept of volunteer work, its importance, and its impact on society. The meeting also reviewed volunteers’ commitments, the stages of building and motivating their capacities, and mechanisms for organizing events to honor outstanding volunteers.

Volunteer opportunities within the Local Development Unit were also presented, along with contributions from representatives of the organization’s Medical Services Unit, who reviewed the available fields and opportunities for volunteering within the unit.

The meeting emphasized the importance of benefiting from the skills and experiences of each volunteer in a way that contributes to building the capacities of the volunteer team and enhancing its effectiveness, positively reflecting on the team’s performance and service to the community.

At the end of the meeting, participants were given the opportunity to fill out application forms to join the volunteer team in Minya, with 43 young men and women registering their interest in joining.

As a result, the organization now has two volunteer teams in Cairo and Minya, working within local initiatives departments and relief programs, alongside groups of volunteers participating in the implementation of various programs.

This step comes as part of the Coptic Evangelical Organization’s keenness to attract young men and women and strengthen their community participation, especially in light of the need to empower and support them to play an active role in serving society.
