“Ezraa” is an effective model of partnership between the state and civil society to serve the Egyptian people
The Coptic Evangelical Organization embraces its responsibility in the “Ezraa” initiative under the umbrella of the National Alliance and the guidance of the political leadership

Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS), praised the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in supporting the “Ezraa” initiative, which is implemented by CEOSS as part of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. He emphasized that “this cooperation reflects the Egyptian state’s vision of strengthening its partnership with civil society to achieve social protection and sustainable development goals.”

Dr. Zaki added:
“We express our deep appreciation for this constructive collaboration, which demonstrates the state’s genuine belief in the role of civil society organizations — foremost among them CEOSS — in supporting vulnerable groups and contributing to food security through the empowerment of small-scale farmers. The statements made by Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Maya Morsy and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mr. Alaa Farouk highlight the importance of this initiative and reinforce our commitment to continue working effectively on the ground.”

He further stated that “the Coptic Evangelical Organization is committed to providing technical and community support to small-scale farmers through the ‘Ezraa’ initiative, in line with the directives of the political leadership and the principles of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.” He stressed the organization’s ongoing efforts to expand the reach of the initiative and improve the living conditions of deserving rural families across Egypt.

Dr. Zaki affirmed that “the initiative has successfully reached wide segments of small-scale farmers across several governorates and has provided a leading model for integration between state institutions and civil society in achieving sustainable agricultural and social development.”

These statements followed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund (affiliated with the Ministry of Social Solidarity) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, in the presence of leaders from both ministries. The protocol aims to coordinate efforts and provide direct support to small-scale farmers, particularly beneficiaries of the conditional cash transfer program “Takaful and Karama.”
