In the presence of the Governor of Al-Minya, CEOSS organizes an employment forum for Al-Minya youth

The Local Development Unit of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services organized, today, Tuesday, a youth employment forum under the slogan “The Future of Our Youth” in Al-Minya Governorate, in the presence of Major General Osama Al-Qadi, Governor of Al-Minya, and under the auspices of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, within the framework of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Manpower and the Organization, in the presence of the Directorate of Manpower in Al-Minya, the governorate’s general office, and the Medium, Small and Micro Business Development Agency.

30 youth employment establishments and institutions participated in the forum. Financial and non-financial services provided by the Business Development Agency were offered in the forum. The establishments and institutions provided 1,000 job opportunities for young people of both sexes, with their various educational qualifications, in Al-Minya Governorate. 1,200 young graduates of universities, institutes and technical schools, searching for job opportunities attended the forum today, where career guidance services were provided, and with the participation of the Business Development Services Units of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, through the mentors of these units, young people were helped in writing their CVs and providing them with advice and technical support on the most suitable job for them and its relationship to their qualifications and experience.

Ms. Margaret Sarofim, Head of the Local Development Sector, said: “This forum comes within the framework of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services’ implementation of economic empowerment programs, the contribution to providing decent job opportunities for young people and promoting a culture of self-employment and productive activities, while supporting entrepreneurship and supporting entrepreneurs and the owners of medium, small and micro businesses, in order to contribute to the increase of the income of young people and improving their living conditions while also contributing in achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth for everybody in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals.”

The forum was attended by members of the Senate, Dr. Rasha Al-Mahdi, Dr. Hani Abdel-Shaheed, and Dr. Ihab Ramzy, and members of the House of Representatives, Dr. Omnia Ragab, Mr. Ashraf Al-Ahmadawi; Mr. Hisham Zaki Ishaq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower; and Mr. Yasser Bakhit, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Solidarity; Mr. Marwan Mohamed, Head of the Business Development Agency’s Branch; Mr. Hosni Atallah Mustafa, Director of the Central Administration of Internal Employment at the Ministry of Manpower and a representative of the Minister of Manpower; Sheikh Hassanein Abdel Hakam, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf in Al-Minya, and Mr. Mohamed Helmy, President of Al-Minya City. Participating from the Coptic Evangelical Organization were, Mr. Nabil Ezzat, Deputy Director of Specialized Development Services in Upper Egypt; and Ms. Marian Milad, the Supervisor of the Economic Development and the Advisory Services Program in Upper Egypt.
