The Local Development Unit of the Coptic Evangelical Organization – in cooperation with the “Senior Leadership Training Programs at the College of International Affairs and Public Policies at the American University in Cairo” – carried out a workshop within the “Training for Employment” project, with the participation of 30 young female trainees from ElMinya. Thy were taught life skills to qualify them to enter the labor market. The workshop was held at C-Boat, ElMinya Governorate, from the 23rd to the 26th of May.
During the workshop, the female trainees actively participated in a set of activities to implement what was learnt in the workshop, which made the work team proud of the workshop trainees, wishing them success and good luck. After the workshop, the trainees will receive career guidance services from the “Forasna” and “Wathaf” platforms in order to help the trainees develop their career paths, and to connect them with suitable job opportunities, and to increase their chances of joining the labor market.
It is worth noting that the Senior Leadership Training Programs at the School of International Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo implement the “Training for Employment Project” to empower and rehabilitate women in general, and women with disabilities in particular, by providing vocational training and by supporting them in obtaining decent job opportunities.
This project is implemented within the framework of the joint program between the UN Women Egypt and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO Egypt) which is called: the Economic Empowerment of Women for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Egypt, which is implemented in partnership with the National Council for Women, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and with the support of the Government of Canada.
