The Evangelical Authority organizes the second regional conference on reproductive and sexual health rights for people with disabilities in Bahrain, with the participation of six Arab countries.
The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, in collaboration with the Diaconia Authority, organized the second regional conference on learning networking to enhance reproductive and sexual health for people with disabilities. The conference took place in the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 13 to 16, with participation from a selection of experts and specialists.
The conference witnessed the participation of the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, alongside civil society organizations and specialized councils, such as the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Jordan, the National Council for Persons with Disabilities in Egypt, the International Population Council in Egypt, the Higher Population Council in Jordan, and the General Union of NGOs in Egypt.
During the working sessions, the conference reviewed best practices that have been implemented, in addition to exchanging experiences and practices from the participating Arab countries with the aim of spreading knowledge and enhancing learning. The sessions addressed issues related to the reproductive health of people with disabilities, climate change, and various legislations concerning them. A field visit to the Bahraini Center for International Mobility was also organized.
Six Arab countries participated in the conference: the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and the State of Palestine.
The conference concluded with a discussion session that addressed various practices from Arab countries regarding the reproductive health rights of people with disabilities and what can be strengthened in this field.
