The Ministry of Social Solidarity, led by Her Excellency Dr. Maya Morsy, honored the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services during the “Ahl El Kheir 2025” celebration. The event recognized the winning civil society organizations in the competition launched by the Ministry in cooperation with the Fund for Supporting Projects of Associations and Civil Institutions, which aimed to select the most impactful food distribution campaigns during the holy month of Ramadan.

The honorary shield was received by Mr. Rafik Nagy, Director of Development Sites in Lower Egypt, representing Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services. The event was attended by a distinguished group of ministers, governors, and public figures, including: Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments; Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development; Eng. Ibrahim Saber, Deputy Governor of Cairo; Eng. Adel Al-Naggar, Governor of Giza; and Eng. Ayman Mohamed Ibrahim, Governor of Qalyubia. Also present were a number of key leaders and representatives of national bodies and organizations, including Dr. Nesreen El-Baghdadi, Deputy Head of the National Council for Women; Dr. Tamer Abdel Fattah, Executive Director of the “Tahya Misr” Fund; and Dr. Hatem Metwally, representative of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, along with several strategic partners of the Ministry.

In a statement, Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki expressed his deep appreciation for the recognition, affirming that the organization’s efforts stem from its humanitarian and social mission, which is rooted in effective partnership with state institutions to serve citizens and promote the values of solidarity and social cohesion in Egyptian society.

The celebration included a presentation on the competition, its objectives, and the outcomes achieved. More than 52 million meals were distributed in collaboration with civil society organizations during Ramadan. A documentary film was also shown, highlighting food distribution efforts across various governorates.

In her speech, Dr. Maya Morsy emphasized the importance of collaboration with civil society organizations, praising the vital role of the Coptic Evangelical Organization as one of the leading institutions supporting community service and civil work in Egypt. She highlighted its significant contributions in supporting the most vulnerable groups, especially during religious seasons and holidays.

This recognition reaffirms the prominent status of the Coptic Evangelical Organization among active civil society institutions and acknowledges its outstanding role in implementing large-scale food distribution programs that serve all Egyptians without discrimination.
