Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt, visited Baheya Hospital in Sheikh Zayed on Saturday morning, as part of the Evangelical Community’s ongoing support for national institutions providing medical and humanitarian services to Egyptian women.
He was accompanied by a high-level delegation of leaders from the Evangelical Community and the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS).
The delegation was received by Eng. Tamer Shawky, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baheya Foundation; Eng. Maged Hamdy, Board Member of Baheya Foundation; Dr. Mohamed Emara, CEO of Baheya Institutions and Hospitals; Ms. Shaimaa Zaatar, Director of Public Relations, Media and Protocol; and Dr. Raef Mourad, Director of the Physiotherapy Unit at Baheya Hospital.
The accompanying delegation included Rev. Dr. George Shaker, Vice President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt; Mr. Momtaz Beshay, Vice President of CEOSS; Ms. Hala Touma, Director of New Ramses School; Ms. Rosette Refky, member of the Women’s Association; and members of the General Evangelical Council, Elder Bassem Naguib, Elder Maged Adeeb, and Elder Hany Sobhy.
The delegation also included Ms. Suzanne Sedky, Director of the Local Development Unit at CEOSS; Mr. Youssef Talaat, Legal Advisor to the Presidency of the Evangelical Community; Elder Essam Wassef, Director of Public Relations at CEOSS; and Mr. Youssef Edward, Media Director at CEOSS.
During his remarks, Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki highlighted the significant role played by Baheya Foundation, saying:
“I am pleased to be here at one of the institutions that has become a shining example in humanitarian work in Egypt, through the remarkable mission it carries out, based on love, hope, and creating a sense of optimism for every Egyptian woman courageously fighting illness.”
He added:
“Creating hope has a profound and direct impact on the healing process. When facing illness, people need someone to stand beside them, give them an opportunity, and restore their hope in returning to life. We are proud of the tremendous efforts you are making to serve Egyptians with love and dedication.”
For his part, Eng. Tamer Shawky, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baheya Foundation, expressed his deep appreciation for the visit, saying:

The visit comes as part of the social and humanitarian responsibility embraced by the Evangelical Community in Egypt to provide support and assistance to service and development institutions that contribute to easing the burden on patients and providing comprehensive free healthcare to women.
The visit also reflects the belief that women’s health is a key foundation for the well-being and stability of families and society.
During the visit, the delegation attended a presentation highlighting the Foundation’s major achievements and recent developments, followed by a commemorative group photo and a tour of the hospital’s various departments to learn more about the medical services and specialized care provided to women.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Evangelical delegation praised the high standard of medical services and advanced technologies at Baheya Hospital in Sheikh Zayed.
The delegation also reaffirmed its commitment to continued cooperation and support among church institutions and national service organizations, helping ensure the sustainability of high-quality healthcare and development services for all Egyptians and strengthening the values of solidarity and compassion that unite Egyptian society.
