Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, affirmed that economic empowerment is one of the key pathways to supporting the most vulnerable families and strengthening their ability to become self-reliant. He highlighted the importance of partnerships among state institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners in creating sustainable opportunities for the most disadvantaged groups and transforming assistance into genuine opportunities for productivity and empowerment.
The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services was represented at the protocol-signing ceremony by Mr. Mamdouh Mortagy, Director of Microfinance at the organization. The ceremony was attended by Eng. Engy El-Yamany, Executive Director of the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund, along with representatives of the participating civil society associations and institutions.
The protocol aims to implement microfinance activities, provide training, technical support, and capacity-building services, and connect projects with markets and value chains. These efforts are intended to enhance project sustainability and improve the economic and social conditions of beneficiary families, particularly those enrolled in the Takaful and Karama program.
