A day full of joy and awareness at the Down Syndrome celebration.

“We haven’t gone out and had this much fun in a long time. You truly made us happy today, and the awareness sessions made a huge difference for me.”
— A comment from one of the families of participating children at the World Down Syndrome Day celebration, held under the theme “We Are All Different… We Are All Unique.”

The celebration featured various recreational and educational activities, including:

  • Awareness Corner: Educating families about the characteristics of children with Down Syndrome and the best methods for providing support and guidance.

  • Arts & Photography Corner: Children crafted unique crowns as they are “Kings and Queens,” along with engaging in beadwork activities.

  • Games Corner: Interactive activities to enhance children’s motor and visual coordination.

  • Face Painting Corner: Adding joy and excitement to the participants.

The event welcomed 80 children and their families from Minya and Beni Suef. It was organized by the Local Development Unit of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) as part of the “Promoting Health Rights for Persons with Disabilities” project, supported by Diakonia and in collaboration with the Disability Affairs Unit at the Minya Governorate Office and Minya Sports Club.
