“I Have a Right“
Under this slogan, the Local Development Unit of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, through the Early Childhood Development and Children at Risk Program in Lower Egypt, organized a celebration on the occasion of World Children’s Day and Childhood Festivals. This event emphasized the rights of children guaranteed by the constitution and law, including the right to life, education, health, protection, play, and identity.
More than 500 children and about 50 volunteers participated in the celebration from the communities of:
- Khalifa
- Ezbet Khairallah
- Manshiyat Nasser
- Al-Salam
- Shubra El-Kheima
The event was organized in collaboration with several developmental associations and institutions, including:
- Basmet Ebda’ Association for Development
- Akoun Foundation for Child Development
- Forsan El-Hadidi Foundation for Development
- Local Community Development Association in Sharqaweya
- Abi Seifein Charity Association
The celebration featured a variety of activities, where children participated in group games aimed at developing teamwork and collaboration skills. They also performed folk art shows that fostered a sense of national belonging.
Additionally, the event included entertainment shows teaching children to reject harm and abuse, alongside theatrical sketches addressing bullying and children’s rights. The children also performed a song about the right to protection. At the end of the day, gifts were distributed to all participating and attending children.
