As part of the implementation of the Inter-Community Girls Empowerment program in Upper Egypt, funded by the United States Agency for International Development and in partnership with the Egyptian Foundation for Comprehensive Development (Nidaa), CEOSS organized a graduation ceremony for 54 youth “Change Heroes” from local communities in the Minya governorate, after completing a 44-day training program aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to identify community needs, economic opportunities, gender concepts, human rights, conflict resolution skills, presentation and facilitation skills, peacebuilding skills, dialogue education, and entrepreneurship, so they can become leaders and change agents in their communities by adopting community initiatives that contribute to social and economic empowerment.
The ceremony included many activities, such as partner speeches, stories of youth success and change, traditional folk arts, an anti-wrongful practices and harmful traditions play, and the youth receiving their graduation certificates.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the United States Agency for International Development, Nidaa Foundation, as well as representatives of government, media, religious, and civil society organizations.
