Proceeding from the importance of discussion and the exchange of dialogue between individuals, and their role in creating constructive cooperation, which ultimately reflects positively on the level of development in all fields, the Cultural Dialogue Forum at the Coptic Evangelical Organization launched the “Promoting Intercultural Dialogue” project in the governorates of Luxor and Giza, from the 16th of August until February 2023.
The project aims at consolidating the culture of cooperation between the different spectrums of society in all its categories, through the help of specialists who presented scientific materials that deal with the concept of sharing, cooperation, acceptance of the other, and the role of the socialization institutions in building the human being, in addition to highlighting the concepts of sustainable development, citizenship, negotiation and conflict management.
Dr. Ramy Atta, Professor at the Media Institute, Al-Shorouk Academy, and Dr. Samia Kadry, Professor of Sociology at Ain Shams University, participated in the project “Promoting Intercultural Dialogue” as speakers. Various segments representing the majority of the Egyptian people attended, starting with the representatives of Al-Azhar and the Church, through the media people, the journalists and the academics, and finally representatives from the civil society institutions. Each of them began to share his life experiences and exchange the dialogue with those around him, talking and discussing, through workshops aimed at establishing the principle of dialogue and demonstrating its importance.
