As part of implementing activities within the project to promote citizenship values and practices in Minya Governorate, the Evangelical Coptic Authority for Social Services organized a visit to the 55th Cairo International Book Fair, with the participation of 25 young professionals from the project’s working communities.
Specific objectives were set for this visit, including enriching cultural awareness among youth and familiarizing them with various fields of science and culture showcased at the fair.
In this context, the participating youth met with Her Excellency Dr. Nevine El-Qabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Mr. Alessandro Fracassetti, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Egypt, along with other dignitaries. During these meetings, the youth exchanged experiences and concepts gained from the project to promote citizenship values. They demonstrated their development in understanding the concept of citizenship, accepting others, and building their capacities and responsibilities in conveying these concepts and experiences to new segments within their communities.
Additionally, the participating group showcased some project outputs, such as printed materials, games, traditional handicrafts, and artworks that promote citizenship values, in the special corner allocated by the Ministry of Social Solidarity at the fair.
