Within the framework of the years-long partnership between the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, the Local Development Unit, and the Ministry of Culture, the General Organization for Culture Palaces, through the General Administration of Women’s Culture, affiliated with the Central Administration for Studies and Research, and in partnership with the Arab Network for Literacy and Adult Education. The ninth scientific conference entitled “Arab Women and the Issues of the Age of Digitization” was held, which supports the political leadership’s endeavor to build and develop the state’s capabilities through the unified automated system for digital transformation, which is considered one of the most important catalysts for economic growth, building competitive and diversified economies, and establishing modern societies that support knowledge and innovation and that attract investments. This will be held on February 8 and 9, at the headquarters of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services in Al Nozha Al-Jadida.
The conference was chaired by Dr. Iqbal Al Samalouti, the general secretary of the Arab Network for Literacy and Adult Education, and its secretariat was held by Dr. Suhair Safwat, professor of Sociology, Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture.
The conference included four main axes, the first axis titled “Cultural Security of Arab Women in the Age of Digitization,” the second axis titled “Empowerment and Protection Issues for Arab Women in the Age of Digitization,” the third axis titled “Building Women’s Awareness as an Entrance to the New Republic and a Dignified Life,” the fourth axis: “The Arab Family in the Age of Digitization,” and a number of researches fall under these axes.
On the sidelines of the conference, a workshop entitled “Partners for achieving digital citizenship” was held by representatives of ministries, organizations and civil society organizations, in addition to implementing a storytelling workshop entitled “My Experience” about women models who were able to develop and invest in the vocabulary of the digital and technological revolution in developing their creativity in various fields, in addition to holding an art exhibition of the products of the General Administration of Women’s Culture.
The conference activities concluded with a closing session in which recommendations were announced.
