The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, in coordination and partnership with the Arab Union for Voluntary Work, organized a training session entitled “From Volunteer to Leader,” with the participation of 20 male and female volunteers. The training aimed to develop volunteers’ leadership skills and strengthen their role in serving the community.
The session addressed the criteria used to select volunteers and the importance of commitment in carrying out responsibilities. It also introduced participants to the social and moral value of volunteer work, emphasizing that volunteering represents an ethical commitment and a positive initiative to serve society.
The training also discussed the transition from the role of volunteer to that of leader by developing skills in selecting and leading work teams, assigning tasks among team members, and following up on their implementation in ways that contribute to achieving objectives efficiently and effectively.
The session was delivered by Ms. Hend Abu Saad, Coordinator of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work in Egypt. The workshop focused on unifying concepts related to volunteer work and promoting a shared understanding of the volunteer’s role as an ambassador for volunteering who is capable of attracting new volunteers within their community.
Representatives of Basmet Ebdaa Association for Development, one of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services’ partner associations in implementing a number of development initiatives and programs, also participated in the session.
It is worth noting that the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services represents the Arab Union for Voluntary Work in the Arab Republic of Egypt, within the framework of a partnership aimed at supporting volunteer work, developing young people’s capabilities, and strengthening their participation in serving their communities.
