As part of the efforts of the Forum for Intercultural Dialogue at the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services to promote a culture of dialogue and strengthen the values of citizenship, the forum launched the “A New Seed for Effective Dialogue” initiative. The initiative is one of the youth-led activities implemented under the “Active Citizenship for Social Peace” program, in partnership with Al-Maryam Applied Technology School in Alexandria Governorate.
The initiative targeted 100 students, parents, and teachers, with the aim of promoting dialogue and mutual understanding between young people and their families. It provided a safe platform for discussion and the exchange of views, contributing to building bridges of trust, strengthening communication within families, and fostering a culture of social peace.
The program included dialogue sessions, interactive activities, and sports activities addressing the challenges of youth, positive parenting methods, effective listening skills, and conflict management. It also featured meetings that brought parents and their children together to exchange messages and express the needs of each side, thereby promoting greater mutual understanding.
The Youth Peace Ambassadors were responsible for the complete preparation, planning, and implementation of the initiative. They also helped disseminate its messages through an awareness-raising video published on social media platforms.
The initiative received media coverage, with Sada El-Balad publishing a report entitled: “The Evangelical Organization Launches an Initiative in Alexandria to Promote a Culture of Peace Among Young People.” This coverage contributed to expanding the reach of the initiative’s messages and raising awareness of the importance of dialogue and social peace.
