Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki affirmed that confronting irregular migration is a shared national responsibility that requires the concerted efforts of the state and civil society institutions. He stressed that economically and socially empowering youth, and investing in people, are among the most important tools for preventing the risks of unsafe migration.

During the meeting, Ambassador Naela Gabr reviewed the role of the National Coordinating Committee, explaining that it includes around 30 ministries and national entities, and serves as the reference body for relevant national authorities and institutions. The committee is mandated with developing and implementing national strategies to combat and prevent irregular migration.

She emphasized that the committee works closely with executive bodies, particularly civil society organizations, noting that her visit to the Coptic Evangelical Organization comes within the framework of joint coordination and reaching out to youth—especially in areas most vulnerable to the risks of irregular migration.

The meeting also addressed the organization’s role in encouraging youth to engage in volunteer work and enhancing their community participation, as key pillars of community-based prevention of irregular migration and in building national awareness among younger generations.
