Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, Head of the Evangelical Denomination in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS), paid an official visit to the Egyptian House of Representatives in the New Administrative Capital, leading a delegation of key international partners of the Organization representing several European countries, the United States, and Canada. The visit came within the framework of CEOSS’s celebrations marking 75 years since its establishment (the Diamond Jubilee).

Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki and the accompanying delegation were received by Dr. Tarek Radwan, Chair of the Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives, along with a number of committee members, who welcomed the delegation and affirmed the Parliament’s pride in its ongoing cooperation with Egyptian civil society institutions—foremost among them the Coptic Evangelical Organization—in recognition of their impactful national and humanitarian role.

In his remarks, Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki expressed his appreciation and pride in the efforts of the Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives, emphasizing its important national role. He noted that cooperation among religious, civil, and legislative institutions reflects the civilized face of modern Egypt and strengthens the path toward comprehensive development.

The meeting addressed a number of regional and humanitarian issues, most notably the current situation in the Gaza Strip. Participants commended Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting peace efforts and regional security, affirming that Egypt continues to carry out its historic mission of protecting lives and achieving stability in the region.

For his part, Dr. Tarek Radwan welcomed the Head of the Evangelical Denomination and the accompanying delegation, praising the efforts of the Coptic Evangelical Organization in the fields of development and human rights, as well as its continued support for the values of peace and coexistence within Egyptian society.

Following the meeting, the Head of the Evangelical Denomination and the accompanying delegation toured the main hall of the House of Representatives, where they were briefed on the mechanisms of parliamentary work and its role in supporting national legislation related to human rights and sustainable development. The delegation also listened to a comprehensive overview of the history of parliamentary life in Egypt and its development until the move to the New Administrative Capital.
