The President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt Receives a Delegation from the Evangelical Church in Germany

Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and Head of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, received today Dr. Rev. Friedmann Eißler, Representative of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and Head of the Interfaith Dialogue Department, accompanied by a large delegation from German churches, at the headquarters of the Coptic Evangelical Organization.

The President of the Evangelical Community welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing the deep ties between German churches and their counterparts in Egypt, as well as the importance of fostering dialogue and mutual cooperation. He also highlighted the role of the Coptic Evangelical Organization in providing social and developmental services, particularly in education, healthcare, and sustainable development, in addition to promoting values of diversity, dialogue, and coexistence.

The delegation was received by several leaders of the Coptic Evangelical Organization, who presented a detailed overview of the organization’s activities and its role in serving Egyptian society. The reception committee included:

  • Mr. Momtaz Girgis Bishay, Vice President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services.
  • Ms. Samira Luka, Senior Head of the Dialogue Sector.
  • Eng. Michael El-Dabaa, Head of Finance and Investment Sector.
  • Ms. Amani Latif, Senior Director of Dar El-Thaqafa.
  • Ms. Iman Mamdouh, Program Manager for Peacebuilding.

In his speech, Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to strengthening its relationships with international churches and institutions, working together to support humanitarian and developmental values. He noted that this visit reflects a spirit of understanding and partnership in serving communities and promoting peace and dialogue.

For his part, Dr. Rev. Friedmann Eißler expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, expressing his pleasure in visiting the Coptic Evangelical Organization and commending its humanitarian and social role, as well as its efforts in promoting dialogue and coexistence. He also emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation between German churches and Egyptian society in various fields.
