“Partners Together”: Evangelical Organization’s Iftar for 2000 Egyptians under the National Alliance in Al-Asmarat District

Today, Wednesday, the Evangelical Coptic Organization for Social Services, under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Society and Development, organized an iftar at the Youth Sports City in Al-Asmarat in Mokattam. More than 2000 citizens participated in the iftar, with the attendance of Dr. Talaat Abdel Kawi, a member of the House of Representatives and the President of the General Union of Associations and Civil Institutions, as well as the head of the organizing committee of the National Alliance, and a number of leaders from the Evangelical Coptic Organization, religious figures, and leaders of civil society institutions.

During his speech, Dr. Abdel Kawi expressed his great happiness with the civilized scene in Al-Asmarat district, adding, “The number of beneficiaries from the support provided by the National Alliance for the first-line families under care during the holy month of Ramadan is nearly 20 million beneficiaries nationwide.” He emphasized, “The alliance has a database for the first-line care citizens in the governorates and villages.”

On his part, Mr. Rafik Nagy, the director of developmental sites at the organization, said, “Today, more than 2000 partners of the Evangelical Coptic Organization are participating under the umbrella of the National Alliance, which is keen on providing assistance and support to the first-line care families at all levels.”

Ms. Heba Yousry, the director of dialogue programs at the Dialogue of Cultures Forum within the organization, also expressed her happiness with the participation of a large number of members of the dialogue programs of the Evangelical Coptic Organization, including sheikhs, priests, preachers, nuns, media professionals, and academics. This reflects the Egyptian image of coexistence.
