From Aswan, the Egyptian South Flower
The Intercultural Dialogue Forum launched the activities of the “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative to celebrate the International Human Rights Day.
From the heart of the Nile, the lifeline, the activities began with a Nile River tour in boats carrying the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Then, an artistic workshop and dialogue sessions were implemented for more than 50 children on tolerance, and the rejection of racism and discrimination on the basis of religion or tribe. Finally a visit was made to a Nubian house in West Suhail to hold a workshop about children’s rights.
From inside the Luxor Temple,
In one of the oldest Egyptian temples, that witnessed the greatness of the ancestral civilization and its appreciation for humanity, the activities of the “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative continued to celebrate the International Human Rights Day.
A field visit to the temple was carried out for 50 young people. After reading The Ma’at document, which called for truth, justice and equality, they attended an artistic workshop to draw on wood inside the temple and express their most important rights.
Marathon for Children in Qena Governorate
Holding the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the marathon was organized with the participation of the leaders of the province and Dr. Naglaa Bakhoum, Member of Parliament.
100 children participated in the marathon, after which storytelling workshops were held for children discussing their most important rights and how to preserve them.
From Beni Suef Governorate,
The activities of the “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative continued celebrating of the International Human Rights Day through sports, art and drama. This time, 50 children with disabilities were integrated with their peers without disabilities, and it was emphasized that our value is in ourselves, not in our looks or clothes.
“The state guarantees the rights of children who have disabilities, and ensures their rehabilitation and incorporation into society.” (Egypt’s Constitution)
Seeking to continue the activities of the “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative in Cairo,
The Intercultural Dialogue Forum at CEOSS, in cooperation with The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), organized an educational awareness day that included a panel discussion and a variety of debates. The awareness day began with a panel discussion of the concepts and terms of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the objectives of the National Human Rights Strategy launched by Egypt and its clear achievements. This was attended by a group of student cadres and a number of specialists and jurists, including: Dr. Muhammad Mamdouh, member of the National Council for Human Rights, and Professor Mahmoud El-Dasouki El-Hisha, researcher in public international law.
In this context, the panel discussion succeeded in consolidating many important concepts of the Charter. It was then followed by debates between the participants on the success or failure of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in eliminating discrimination between people. These debates resulted in many recommendations that would contribute to giving effect to the principles of the Global Charter on Human Rights in our societies.
From Minya, the “Bride of Upper Egypt”
The activities of “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative continued to celebrate the International Human Rights Day, within a community education classroom that targeted 50 children. The activities included art workshops, sports games to raise awareness of the human rights, theatrical performances, and a choir for children.

Implemented by student volunteers as part of the “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative to celebrate the International Human Rights Day. It included training 30 students, introducing them to the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and taking a tour inside the university to raise awareness.
From Alexandria, Bride of the Mediterranean Sea
The activities of the “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative continued to celebrate the International Human Rights Day, and targeted 40 people of the Arab and African communities. The activities began with a workshop on the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, followed by artistic performances from the traditional cultural expressions (folklore) of all participating countries. Then the celebration ended with the release of helium balloons to celebrate the event.
The “Our Value in Our Humanity” initiative in Sohag focused on educating 30 families to support family cohesion and to provide society with well-adjusted individuals.
