Horus Hospital was opened on 16th of August 2010 as a confirmation of the role played by the organization to improve the quality of life of the poor and marginalized and based on implementation of eyesight right for all program. The hospital seeks to provide high quality services by special medical teams with high experience and skills using the available latest medical equipment in this field. The hospital seeks to provide these services to the poor marginalized citizens in addition to all patients who can afford or can’t afford treatment in El-Minya governorate and some near governorates, in addition to providing its services to companies, unions, authorities and banks at the cost of the service. The hospital always tries to address its services to the maximum possible places to achieve more extension and spread in various ways to reach different segments by the help of mobile ophthalmology clinic and providing specialized services with high quality and efficiency.
Horus Hospital is one of the unit development projects in the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services which is located in a special location in El-Minya, 1 km from the train station of El-Minya.

The hospital consists of 3 floors:
First floor: outpatient clinic + internal medicine clinic
Second floor: advanced examination room+ 2 operation rooms (Major & Minor) + Intensive care room+ recovery room
Third floor: patient rooms consisted of 15 beds.
- The hospital provides examination service (ophthalmology – internal medicine) with early detection.
- Performing major operations (cataract with phaco, cataract surgery, glaucoma, eyeball burn treatment, tumor eye removal + Silicon oil removal, cataract and Glaucoma in a one operation, medication given by injection into the back of eyes, injection with Avastin, injection with Lucentis , squint, pterygium using Mitomycin patch, etc.)
- Exclusive cornea transplant in Upper Egypt.
- providing service of lenses for vision correction
- performing plastic surgeries which need special skills (artificial eye transplant, perform lacrimal drainage surgery, tube transplant and Ptosis)
- performing minor and medium surgeries (Trichiasis, pterygium, stye, chalazion, removal of external body)
- Performing lots of advanced examination in the hospital (Argon laser, YAG laser, vision, ultrasound on eye, x-ray with fluorescein dye)
- Examination related to internal (ultrasound, Electrocardiography, diabetes test)
- Mobile units (ophthalmology mobile clinics) reaching various places with lack of ophthalmology services by implementation of medical convoys of the hospital and detected cases are converted to the hospital to perform the needed operations
