The Governor of Minya Discusses with the Head of the Evangelical Denomination Ways to Enhance Joint Cooperation

On Monday, Governor Emad Kadwani of Minya received Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, the President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS), along with his accompanying delegation. The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation and discuss mechanisms to support developmental projects.
Governor Kadwani emphasized that Minya enjoys substantial support from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, commending the presidential initiatives that accelerate development across various sectors. He highlighted the importance of enhancing partnerships between state institutions and civil society organizations. The governor praised CEOSS for its pivotal role in community service through initiatives like “New Beginning” and “Plant,” aimed at achieving economic and social development and promoting values of citizenship.
He added that the projects implemented by CEOSS contribute to building community awareness and fostering relationships among different social groups, noting that these joint efforts align with achieving sustainable development goals.
In turn, Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki expressed his gratitude to the governor for his tangible efforts since assuming leadership in the governorate, acknowledging his positive impact on fostering collaboration and developmental work. He stated, “Our visit today is a testament to Governor Emad Kadwani’s effective role across all sectors in Minya and an expression of our full support for your developmental efforts, which align with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision of promoting national unity and building community awareness.”
Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki and his delegation also reviewed CEOSS activities in Minya, including the “Agriculture and Crop Resources” program, which has improved the livelihoods of 20,000 farmers, breeders, and fishermen. The “Plant” initiative, aimed at increasing productivity for 500,000 small-scale farmers to achieve food security, was also highlighted. Other programs include the “Livestock, Poultry, and Fisheries” program targeting 15,000 families and the “Economic Development” program, which has empowered 1,500 youth to develop their skills.
Additionally, the “Disability Inclusion Program,” designed to enable effective participation of individuals with disabilities in society, was presented. This program has integrated 3,650 people with disabilities and their families. Other initiatives in the governorate, such as capacity-building training programs for human development, were also showcased.
Rev. Zaki pointed out that CEOSS has implemented 34,890 small projects with a total value of EGP 1.07 billion, in addition to organizing a job fair that provided 1,200 employment opportunities in collaboration with 30 companies. A new economic unit was also established in Abayouha to train women in garment manufacturing.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki invited the governor to participate in celebrating the 75th anniversary of CEOSS’s establishment.

Andrea Zaki was accompanied by a delegation of CEOSS leaders, including Samira Luka, Head of the Dialogue Sector at CEOSS; Suzanne Sedky, Director of Development Sites in Upper Egypt; Heba Yousry, Director of the Cultural Dialogue Forum Programs; Magid Boulos, Deputy Director of Rural Development; Sheikh Nasser Sadeq, Director of CEOSS’s Minya Office; and Yousef Edward, Media Director at CEOSS.
