A culture of self-employment through the establishment of small and micro enterprises

In partnership with the Social Fund for Development in Minia and Beni-Suef, the Local Development Unit of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) organized meetings to raise awareness of the culture of self-employment and raise awareness of Law 152 of 2021 on small, medium and micro enterprises. These meetings were part of the activities of the project “Towards Resilient Communities and Civil Society Organizations in Egypt”.

A number of representatives of partnering civil society organizations, youth, and representatives of a number of government entities and private sector companies, and members of parliament participated in the event.

The meeting dealt with an explanation of Law 152 of the Social Fund for Development and the most important features and incentives of the law which help in establishing these projects and include them under the umbrella of official work. The meeting also addressed: the role of service delivery units of the Fund; the documents required to obtain those services; the various services, whether financial or non-financial, the Fund provides; and how to obtain them. The role of the directorates of the Ministry of Manpower and the National Council for Women and the services they provide for youth and women were also reviewed.

Attending and participating in the meeting were: Mr. Montaser Rushdi, Director of the Regional Office of the Social Fund for Development in Beni Suef; representatives of the Fund in Beni-Suef Mr. Hisham Abdel Latif, Mr. Ali Metwally, Mr. Mohamed Saad, Mr. Ashraf Hussein, and Ms. Souad Abdel Aal;  Mr. Wajeeh Eltahawy, Mr. Haitham Ahmed, and Ms. Samah Mohamed, representatives of the Fund in Minya; Counselor Walid Abdel Rahman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration in Minya; Mr. Hamdi Azab, General Manager at the Directorate of Manpower in Beni Suef; Dr. Shantouri Bayoumi, member of the National Council for Women in Minya; Professor Mondy Okasha,  General Manager of the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Minya; Mr. Ayman Ahmed,  representative of the Youth Graduate Employment Authority in Minya; Dr. Mona Abdullah, member of parliament and member of the Committee on Medium and Small Projects in Beni-Suef; Ms. Maryam Ezzat, member of parliament; and Ms. John Elkafoury from the private sector.
